xvmfixlabel

SYNOPSIS

       xvmfixlabel [-q(uiet)]

       /etc/init.d/xvmfixlabels start

DESCRIPTION

xvmfixlabel is a script which scans and removes GPT labels from all
disks which have an SGI volume label. This is necessary because early
versions of the Altix EFI prom and the parted(8) command will restore a
backup GPT label over an XVM label. The backup GPT label is not erased
by fdisk(8) when creating an SGI label. The xvm command has been modi-
fied to remove backup GPT labels when creating new XVM volumes but
older XVM volumes may have left over GPT labels.

EXAMPLE

       /sbin/xvmfixlabel
