cluster-description - cluster description file
The cluster-description is a text file description of a cluster that is
used by cmnodes(1). It can describe the cluster manager, the hardware
platform as well as specify names for various nodes and node groups
used by cmnodes (1).
Lines starting with '#' are ignored, as are blank lines. Some things
are described by Key : Value pairs, and node list blocks are delimited
by Begin and End tags.
KEY VALUE PAIRS
The key and value are separated by the colon (:) character.
The cluster's hardware platform. Possible values: ICE or XE
Specifies which cluster manager is present. Possible values:
Tempo, PlatformManager, ISLE-CM, SGIMC.
Diag Specifies which node should be used as the diagnostics node.
Admin Specifies the admin node for Altix ICE clusters.
NODE LIST BLOCKS
The list of compute nodes. Starts with BeginComputeList and
ends with EndCompute.
The list of leader nodes. Only valid for ICE clusters. Starts
with BeginLeaderList and ends with EndLeader.
The list of service nodes. Only valid for ICE clusters. STarts
with BeginServiceList and ends with EndService.
Here is an example of a cluster-description file:
# The hardware platform (ICE, XE)
HardwarePlatform : ICE
# The cluster manager (Tempo, PlatformManager, ISLE-CM, SGIMC)
ClusterManager : PlatformManager
# The machine where diags should be run.
Diag: service 1
# For ICE compute nodes
# For ICE, list of service nodes
# For ICE, the list of leader nodes
