2. Structure of This Guide

Linux FailSafe configuration and administration information is presented in the following chapters and appendices:

  • Chapter 1, introduces the components of the FailSafe system and explains its hardware and software architecture.

  • Chapter 2, describes how to plan the configuration of a FailSafe cluster.

  • Chapter 3, describes several procedures that must be performed on nodes in a Linux FailSafe cluster to prepare them for high availability setup.

  • Chapter 4, describes the cluster manager tools you can use to administer a FailSafe system.

  • Chapter 5, explains how to perform the administrative tasks to configure a FailSafe system.

  • Chapter 7, explains how to perform the administrative tasks to operate and monitor a FailSafe system.

  • Chapter 8, describes how to test the configured FailSafe system.

  • Chapter 9, describes the log files used by FailSafe and how to evaluate problems in a FailSafe system.

  • Chapter 10, describes some procedures you may need to perform without shutting down a FailSafe cluster.
