Appendix C. Supported Terminals

The terminfo terminal description database provides support for over 1600 variations of character-based terminals from a wide variety of manufacturers. This appendix lists a few of the terminals supported under IRIX. For a complete list of supported terminals, examine the subdirectories of /usr/lib/terminfo. Also, see the terminfo(4) man page for more information on the terminfo database.

Table C-1 shows some supported terminals and their shorthand names. When prompted for a terminal type at a TERM= prompt, enter the shorthand name shown in the far right column of this table.

Note: This list does not constitute an endorsement of any particular terminal or manufacturer.
